Jade Schmidt

Jade Schmidt joined the Montana Volleyball Showcase team in 2020. She started as a camp coach and originated the idea of offering a recruiting showcase in conjucting with the Elite and Team camps. Jade organized the inaugural Montana Recruiting Showcase, bringing in over 80 athletes and 8 colleges/universities represented. ​ As a player, Jade was a 4-year letterman and 2-year captain at Helena High School in Helena, MT. She followed that with a 4-year starter, 2-year captain career at the University of Montana. She played both outside hitter and libero during her time at UM. Her senior season, she finished in the top 10 in the Big Sky Conference in both service aces and serve receive percentage. Jade was a four-time Academic All Big-Sky Conference selection, an ESPN Academic All-American Team selection, and was named the University of Montana Big Sky Female Scholar-Athlete in 2009. ​ When Jade's playing career ended, she coached the 18-1 team for Montana Volleyball Academy. Her team won multiple USAV tournaments, including the Evergreen Region Championship to qualify for Junior Olympics. She has also coached 14-1s at Mountain One VBC (who won multiple 14s and 16s AAU tournaments throughout Montana) and 18-Elite for Mack Sports Performance Club (2022 Big Sky Volleyfest AAU SuperRegional Champions).

Jade served as the varsity volleyball coach at Belgrade High School in Belgrade, MT from 2012 - 2018. In that time, she accumulated a 162-41 record. Her teams won the Central/Eastern A conference five times and competed as the State Tournament all seven seasons. During her tenure, Belgrade finished top-3 at the State Tournament four times, including a State Championship in 2014 and back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2017 and 2018. While with Belgrade, Jade garnered six Central/Eastern A Coach of the Year Awards and was nominated for Montana Class A Coach of the Year four times, taking home the award in 2014. Jade spent the 2019 - 2021 seasons officiating high school volleyball, working as the line judge coordinator for Montana State University Volleyball, and spending more time with family. In 2022, she rejoined the coaching ranks as the junior varsity coach at Gallatin High School in Bozeman, MT.
